Chief Charles A. Peterson Joined the Police force prior to 1920 [2]. By 1930 he was Acting Police Chief[1] at which time he was residing at 176 Morris Ave. (just built in 1928) He was Chief of Police in Englewood from December 27, 1929 (Acting) [3] until his retirement in January of 1950 [4], in which year he was President of the Bergen County Assoc. of Chiefs of Police. Chief Peterson was Chief during the Lindbergh Kidnapping affair. [5]
