Jacob Ullrich - was a Chief of the Volunteer Fire Department. [1] In 1898 he also served as "poormaster" for the fledgling city. [2]

Career

Mr. Ullrich came to this country from Germany at an early age. He first joined the fire company on Aug 18, 1888, and was elected foreman of Company #1 in May, 1897. The next year he was elected Fire Chief and was re-elected each year until 1907, when the office was filled by appointment of Council. [2]
