Joan Starr Lesemann - was Deputy County Clerk following her service as a Bergen County Freeholder from 1965 to 1978, where she chaired the freeholders committee on Community and Economic Development and on Youth Services. She was a legislative aide to assemblyman Byron Baer and has served on the Teaneck Council of the National Council of Jewish Women. She received the Hannah Solomon Award of Merit from O.P.D. Club, Teaneck. Prior to her election as freeholder Mrs. Lesemann had been active in women's rights activities and school activities. She and her husband Arthur, an attorney, have three daughters. Amy, Dana, and Mara. [1]
