Rick Davis - was one of the North American Soccer League’s top young Americans. Member of U.S. National and Olympic teams that played the Soviet Union in February 1979. He captained the U.S. Olympic “B” Team that won the Bellinzona (Switzerland) Easter Tournament in March ’79, scoring one goal. Mr. Davis was a versatile performer who can play forward and defense in addition to midfield. He started at forward for National Team in 1977; became midfield in 1978. His first Cosmos start was made at New England July 5th, 1980. He played for the University of California at Santa Clara before joining the Cosmos; made the Olympic Team in 1980. He was a member of the U. S. National Youth Team in 1976. [1]
