Sol Stein was one the partners in the ownwership of the legendary Sol and Sol's Deli on Palisade Ave which was so well known that it was featured in an episode of MASH*, on on TV. Together with Sol Kaplan and two others they created food which filled a need for many, many people. Sol Stein was an early joiner of the Englewood Volunteer Ambulance Corps and together with his partner Sol Kaplan was a regular riding on calls for the corps. In 1968 he was elected the 9th President of the Ambulance Corps.

He was born in Lódz, Lodzkie, Poland, on October 10, 1912, and emigrated to the US with his parents, Louis and Lelia Stein, and his sister Ida in 1919. [2] [1]
