Wides Corner

Wides Corner, at the intersection of Lafayette Ave and Englewood Ave, is named for Sam Wides, a local merchant, grocer and deli owner on the site for several decades in the early pasrt of the 20th century. His brother Isaac ran a liquor store on Palisade Ave and three other brothers ran fruit and vegetable stores in town. Wides Liquors stands on Wides Corner as of 2003. [1]
